What is Public Health: Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. This work is achieved by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases.
A Griffith University Alumnus and member of Public Health association of Australia and also of Indian Public Health Association, she specializes in Epidemiology, Sustainable Communities development and Policy advocacy. She has planned and delivered various community projects. Using her degrees in Microbiology, Public Health and Dietetics.
She conducts workshops on epidemiology, statistics and project management in public health for various government organizations.
She has been a strong advocator of public health principles all the way along her career and has spearheaded various health campaigns and have written blogs, articles, given interviews and speeches at various podiums advocating strongly the benefits of prevention rather than cure. She believes in sustainable communities and health. Founder of an NGO that works on the same, prevention and sustainable development of children , environment and animals.
A multi-level approach is known as the social-ecological model. In public health, we must consider all of the levels that influence health, including the social, physical, political, and economical environments.
